Quality diagnosis and treatment for equine lameness
From ponies to racehorses, lameness is a common problem found in all equines. At Vectis Equine Vets, our veterinary surgeons are experienced in investigating equine lameness using the latest diagnostic techniques.
Lameness evaluation and diagnosis
Kate has a particular interest in lameness evaluation and diagnosis. She completed her undergraduate elective in equine orthopaedics and later went on to spend 7 months at the University of Cambridge working as an orthopaedic resident, teaching students how to investigate equine lameness. Using a detailed physical examination and local analgesia we identify the problem area and then can utilise our portable digital x-ray and ultrasound machines to produce instant stall side images and gain an accurate diagnosis.
We can email these x-ray reports to specialist centres for immediate referral or second opinions, if necessary.
